About Us

Seattle Festival of Trees Guild

Guild History

The Dr. Forrest L. Flashman Guild was formed in 1969 by a group of women from Redmond Washington. Their fundraising events included fashion show luncheons and sewing for craft bazaars, where the Flashman Guild was known for their sock baby dolls.

The Flashman Guild launched the annual Festival of Trees fundraiser in 1978, which grew into a million-dollar event that raised money for Seattle Children's. Due to their newfound success, they received the Chairman's Award in 1987 for being the top Guild of the year.

In 2013, the Autism Center Guild and Dr. Forrest L Flashman Guild formed a joint partnership to further the reach for the annual Festival of Trees Gala. Because of their collective success, they decided to merge the two guilds in 2018, creating the Seattle Festival of Trees Guild.

Proceeds from the Gala are equally shared between the Autism Center, which is directed towards the highest needs, and Seattle Children's Uncompensated Care for families who cannot cover medical expenses. Over the years, the guilds have contributed more than $8 million to support these two organizations.
